I can accompany you in a 9-seater bus around the local area, taking in features such as sandy beaches, castles and ghosttowers, lobster farms and salmon fishers, golf courses and horse riding, whisky distilleries, towns and villages.

Activities:

  • Sea diving in the bay.
  • Highland Games in the summer months in the surrounding area (Braemar, Deeside etc.).
  • River fishing, golf, clay-pigeon shooting, gliding.
  • Sea fishing, boat tours from Stonehaven (10 minutes by car) to the sea bird sanctuary and Dunottar Castle.
  • Folk Music festival in Stonehaven in July, Catterline Gala in June, bicycle hire in Stonehaven.


Shopping:

Food and necessities can be bought in nearby Stonehaven and Inverbervie. Every Friday a bus takes passengers from Catterline to Stonehaven to shop - returning to three hours later. This is a great opportunity to meet and talk to the older inhabitants of the village.
Milk, fruit juice and butter can be ordered and delivered by the milkman to the door on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
A visiting fishmonger sells fresh fish from the nearby fishing port of Gourdon on Fridays.
Eggs of all sizes may be bought from Jimmy Moir in Catterline.
Delicatessen (cheeses, pasta, quiche etc.) may be bought from a van visiting the Creel Inn (one minute on foot) on Monday mornings. Coal is delivered to Catterline on Wednesday mornings.
10 minutes to Inverbervie, then 20mins. to Montrose where there is a swimming pool, many gift shops, a library, auction rooms, museums, art galleries etc..
The nearby town of Montrose is only 30 minutes away via Inverbervie where there is a swimming pool, a supermarket and shopping centre, many gift shops, a library, auction rooms, museums and art galleries.
