No.5 Coastguard Buildings is a traditional stone-built slate roofed "salmon fisher's" house. Recent renovation and "Mansard" type extension of the upper floor have not detracted from its charm, only improved the comfort and quality of life of its occupants. New wooden windows frame the sea-view on one side and the pastoral scene of fields and, down below, Jimmy Moirs croft on the other. Incidentally, Jimmy sells the best eggs to be had from happy hens and it is not unusual to be invited in for a "wee dram".
The oil-fired central heating provides a comfortable background warmth, on colder days an increase in comfort and cheer is given from the open fire range in the living room and from the wood-burning stove in the dining room. A small walled garden behind the house offers rest and recuperation.
In front is the largest garden imaginable, although part lawned and bordered by herb bushes as a windbreak, the cliff front down to the sea belongs to the property.
A Paradise for children, either to play on the shingle beach or on the playing field 5 minutes away which the local children use or about the surrounding fields where cows, horses, a pony, sheep, geese and hens spend their days and nights. The local Creel Inn is only a minute away, here you may have a drink with the locals or enjoy wonderful meals in peace.
